Claire Fisher

Inventory: Her digital camera, several empty memory cards, her apartment keys.
Claire grew up in her family's funeral home in southern California. She is the youngest of the three Fisher children and the only girl. While her oldest brother Nate rejected, then returned to, the family business, and her other brother David followed his expected role like the good son, taking over the business after his father's death, Claire never had such direction. Therefore her life is a search for meaning and identity. Often this manifests itself in self-centered, even self-destructive ways, in experiments with drugs and unhealthy sexual relationships. However, she is also the artistic one of the family, and is able to channel some of this search for meaning in her projects.
Claire, like the rest of her family, has a vivid imagination, and will in particular often experience encounters with people who have died, especially her father, Nathaniel, and her oldest brother, Nate. When she left home for New York, however, she left a large part of that connection to her dead family behind her, symbolized by seeing Nate in her rearview mirror as she drove away.
